A Message from the President

posted Sep 15, 2011 8:50 PM by Allen Cross   [ updated Sep 15, 2011 9:15 PM by September Song ]

As many of you now know, September Song Musical Theatre was forced to go dark this year in an effort to avoid total collapse. Instead of our traditional full scale musical production, we organized a musical revue to raise funds to help us return to the stage in 2012 with a full scale musical production for the entire family. Last weekend, past stars of September Song & special guests took to the Carroll Arts Center stage & performed for a sold out house. The turn out last Saturday far surpassed our expectations & warmed our hearts. This “support in numbers reaffirmed to us the community’s desire to keep September Song alive & well for years to come.

To those who were turned away on Saturday night because we were sold out, I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused. We set out on “uncharted territory” Saturday night & while we feel that we did a lot right, we definitely came away with things we can improve on for the next revue. We thank you for your understanding & hope you will join us at a future event.

To those who were able to attend & share their love & support with us on Saturday evening, words cannot express how thankful we are to each of you for being there. We are on the road to get to where we need to be financially so we can continue the Carroll County tradition that is September Song.

Sincerely,                                                                                                                                                                    Allen Cross                                                                                                                                                    President                                                                                                                                                     September Song Board of Directors

Important Announcement from September Song

posted May 30, 2011 6:48 PM by Allen Cross   [ updated May 30, 2011 7:32 PM ]

It is with mixed emotions that we announce that September Song Musical Theatre (SSMT) will not be offering Children of Eden for our 2011 season. As you may already be aware, in recent months SSMT has experienced a lot of changes and in the new environment we find ourselves, we simply do not have the means to pursue a musical production for 2011. With that being said, the auditions slated for June 5th, 7th and 9th have been cancelled. We sincerely appreciate all of the interest expressed about our 2011 season and deeply regret having to cancel so close to auditions.

SSMT is not gone for good. We are now shifting our focus to fund raising and securing sponsorships so that we can hopefully return next year in a better position to continue the Carroll County tradition that is September Song. Over the coming weeks we plan to announce fund raising events designed to help us reach our goal of a 2012 season. Our fund raising events will not be possible without your support. We also welcome any fund raising ideas you may have; please direct any fund raising ideas to our President, Allen Cross at allen@september-song.org.

Again, we thank you for your continued support and welcome any questions or concerns you may have. On behalf of the SSMT Board of Directors we wish each of you a happy and safe summer and look forward to seeing you at a fund raising event soon!

Sincerely,
